Happy Easter!

Thought I would pop in to say Happy Easter!

I got these new Swedish Hasbeens in the mail from Modcloth this week, and I couldn't wait to pull them out! This Sunday seemed like the perfect excuse, since pastels are par for the course. Oh and since I get a lot of sizing questions about my other Hasbeens--I ordered these a size larger than my sandals based on reviews on Endless, and they fit just fine.

Oh, and I lopped off all my hair! I keep forgetting, and people keep staring at me in shock in person. I walked in with a couple of photos of Alexa Chung and Freja, and after I quibbled with a gaggle of stylists, this is the result. I forget that not everyone has long hair and many people are appalled to chop it all off.

I've missed you blog, and blogosphere! I'll be wrapping up finals this week and be back in full force for summer.

Hooray! Bonne fête nationale française! Despite the fact that it's been three years since I have visited the land of amour, couture, and fromage, I celebrated Bastille Day along with my favorite francophile friends. In true form, we had an indoor picnic with my favorite kinds of wine, cheese, and bread. It had been a good three or four years since we took any formal French courses, so we didn't attempt to sing La Marseillaise and watched Marie Antoinette instead.

This was my daytime look as I buzzed around work and waited till I could fully celebrate! I was feeling the 70's vibe the dress and platforms evoked. And, gulp, so was the mailman apparently. He joked unironically, "I have a big package for you," and winked at me. I blinked in disbelief several times until he returned with a box for my boss. 

So just a quick note for those of you drooling over the shoes. They were totally worth the pennies I saved up for them--they are super comfortable and I powered through an 8-hour day on my feet, but they sure do turn heads.

Okay, I totally cracked.

This little baby had been on my wishlist since, oh, September? And with the extra hours I had put in while transitioning jobs, and the money I had saved during my nonshopping days? After bills (and saving a bunch, okay!), I was shocked that I had enough to finally get me one.

The hunt was kind of insane too--I knew it was a hot bag, but I didn't dream that I would have to lurk the Purse Forum and various e-tailers every second of every day in order to get one. But I did, secretly hoping that I'd have to wait until after Easter so I could be good. I have an itchy online shopping trigger finger, and that was that.

This is the "regular" or smaller size. While it looks pretty small in these photos, it can fit quite a bit! It is approximately the same dimensions as a Rebecca Minkoff Morning After Mini or even like, a LV Speedy 25/30. The leather has been the topic of many purse lover discussions as it seems to vary widely in texture--mine is mostly smooth and has a sheen to it. Very similar feel to the luggage leather used on some Hobo wallets. I am thrilled and can't wait to see how she wears over time.

Anyways, back to the point of this post. It was gorgeous out today and I got to pull this frock out of my warm weather wear bin. Look familiar? This is the dress Anjali is wearing in her header at Goldenmeans!

Speaking of one of my favorite bloggers, another of my fave blog ladies, Maria of Infinite Whimsy, will be in town this weekend! Can't wait to navigate the crazy highways and dance club mall with her.
