Outfit details:
Deletta Ambling Twists tank (from Summer '09, try these similar tops: here or here)
Lenora Dame grape bunch necklace (similar on Etsy here!)
Spanx tight end tights (my very favorite brand for tights!)
I've been saving this pencil skirt for a very special occasion--I purchased it way before the holiday season anticipating finishing grad school in 2011. I thought it would be the perfect bridge piece from my work and play wardrobe into professional business wear. On an otherwise ordinary day, it was the perfect piece to add a little spice to my jeans and tees routine.

Every pencil skirt I've purchased from the Crew has been excellent, and this one is no exception. The tweed has so many great colors incorporated in it, so I chose all of these electric wine grape shades to to pair it with. The boots were an afterthought, but were the perfect finishing touch to take this outfit from office to everyday. Boot season is my favorite--I'll find any excuse to pull out one of my favorite pairs while I can!

  1. You look fabulous! I've been wanting to see the moss tweed skirt in action, and you wear it so well. This whole outfit is just lovely. Happy new year, Jinah! I hope 2011 brings you everything your heart desires ^^

  3. I love how you styled the skirt - those boots are fantastic. I agree - J. Crew pencil skirts are the best!

  5. What a great way to wear the moss tweed skirt! I think tweed can be hard to pull off in a pencil skirt (ie, on me, tweed shows every lump, so I usually like to stay away from fitted styles!)...BUT, you wear it so wonderfully here. I resisted all the wool pencil skirts from J Crew this season, but someday I hope to add them to my collection.

  9. Hi Jinah! Just found your blog and I love your style! And the kittens of course. Are these the Frye Carsons in Smoke? I was looking for a pair cos I can't tell what colour they are in real life. How would you describe them? More brown or black or grey? I ended up getting these in Tan and they're so gorgeous but hard to style somehow. How about a feature on your Frye boots! :)

  10. Jenny: These are the Carsons in Slate. I actually went to five different websites to compare photos of this color before buying. I really wanted a stormy grey with no heavy blue or brown tones, and thought this was perfect. It's a really nice steely gray that goes with almost anything. I was debating between the Slate and Smoke colors, and chose these since the Smoke looked more like a taupey/brown color than grey.

And hmmm...you may be right! A Frye feature might be in order soon.
