The Craftermath, plus OOTD

Vintage Market Athens 1

This weekend felt like such a whirlwind! Selling at Athens Indie Craftstravaganzaa was such a blast, and Lana and I met some really amazing people. I think we made a lot of new friends, too, which was evidenced by the early lack of friendship bracelets. We were stationed right next door to one of my favorite treasure troves, Agora, and the weather could not have been better!

I think the show combined a few of my favorite things: clothing, design, and styling/merchandising. I was super happy with how the booth turned out. I kept squealing throughout the day, "How cute are we?"

Markus helped me design and cut out these banners. Mine's hanging above my desk right now!

We tried to entice people with our three favorite 60's dresses. The poster was almost an afterthought--I made the design in a panic thinking we needed as much branding and clear signage as possible.

Blogger fail: I didn't get outfits shots of either of us! Lana is wearing a gorgeous vintage terracotta and ivory dress with embroidered and cutout details, and I wore my new Dear Creatures sailor dress from Modcloth.

And since my time was spent talking to vintage enthusiasts and some of the cutest crafters ever, I put the blog on the backburner. Lucky for you, friends, I took outfit photos during the Busy Time and simply didn't have the time to post them. Here's one now!

Crop top + high waist bottom = summer uniform. The best part is the nice breeze in the back that eliminates gross summer weather sweaty lower back.

Tomorrow is an extra-special day on the blog, since it will be the debut of a new feature! If you've been paying attention in this post, you already got a sneak peek.

Going to Athens, brb

It's finally Spring, and in the south that means festival season is upon us! Besides slurping lemonade and stuffing my face with fried foods, my favorite part of any fair is browsing the artist wares.

Some of you might remember this one from last year? I love a good excuse to visit another city.

Well, even better than last year, there will be a section of vintage sellers alongside the artists' market! Better yet, I will be selling there this year! My girl Lana of Limon Chiffon Vintage and I have joined forces to bring you a huge selection of vintage goodies.

My Etsy shop bunnyday will continue to be "on vacation" until after the fair. If any of you lovelies can make it out, I'm offering my blog readers a special discount! Just print out or show me (via your phone, etc.) the following coupon for a sweet deal!

Bonjour! readers will also receive a handmade neon friendship bracelet with purchase. Just a little thank you for supporting me and being my friend!

We will be accepting cash, Paypal, and credit card payments (via Square).

Other lovely crafty ladies Jordan of fattycakes handmade and Mary Rebecca will be there as well! See you there!

Whipstitch: Fabric Shop and Sewing Lounge

IMG_1473

When I heard that Whipstitch was opening this weekend in West Midtown, I got ridiculously excited. I've perused the Etsy shop before, but didn't realize a brick and mortar location was opening so soon or so nearby! Even though I already have yards and yards of fabric stashed away, I had to go check it out.

The shop is located in the recently renovated Brick Works area on Marietta Street, next to the very yummy Toscano and Sons.

Mmm there was this adorable popcorn cart outside!
Love his handmade shirt and her Liberty bag.

On Friday, they kicked things off with a viewing of Handmade Nation. In the lull before the documentary, I ooh-ed and ahh-ed over the assortment of brightly hued patterns and prints. They carried so many of my favorites!! A vast collection of Alexander Henry, Anna Maria Horner,  and Robert Kaufman among many other amazing designer prints.

Bolts and bolts!

I loved this piece on display. A perfect way to showcase some incredible prints!

The displays were very eye-catching.

I was also super excited to hear that sewing, quilting, and serging classes would be offered. I have been dying to invest in an industrial machine but haven't had a good enough reason to, until now.

Ooh and the sewing lounge itself is super cozy. This feels like the perfect place to go to feel inspired and have access to all the materials and wisdom you need to complete a project!

I suppose a post wouldn't be complete without a reference to what I wore yesterday. Here is an outtake I decided to be brave and post for you, loyal fans.

Athens Indie Craftstravaganzaa: May 1st

In lieu of the weekly Etsy post, I thought I would bring this exciting event to the attention of my local readers.

The Athens Indie Crafstravaganzaa will be on this upcoming Saturday, and I am tickled to attend! Like it says on the flier, this is a perfect time purchase gifts for your mama or special grads (I know two of each that I am without gifts for!).

Best of all, I can spend some time supporting some of my favorite local crafty ladies. Come see the wonderful wares of Mary, Lesley, and Christina this weekend with me!

And as always I will be prowling around the town during the rest of the day in search of unique clothing boutiques and yummy food if anyone has suggestions for any must-sees and must-eats. I used to frequent the town in college to go to shows at the 40Watt, but don't feel nearly as hip as I did then.
