No one likes to admit that they've bitten off more than they can chew. As somebody who is still in the Type A Overachiever mindset, though I'm now more of a Type B archetype, I can't help but want to do more and do it better. So this semester I piled on a few more extracurriculars, forgetting that I barely blogged in the Fall.
But this time is different. No really--it's all in the name of posting more, and better. Somewhere in-between slumber party 2006 reunions and spring cleaning I managed to sign up for a photography class.
Since the last time I dabbled in any kind of artsy snapshot taking was back in high school (and on film!), and because bien sur, I need more hobbies, I decided to go for it. I'm slowly learning what the extra buttons (that don't exist on my other camera) on my fancy new doohickey are for, and in the process maybe you won't have to squint so hard to see what I'm wearing.
Outfit details:
- Target long and lean tank
- Secondhand J. Crew jean jacket (get a current version here)
- Anthropologie Viola brand skirt (from 2007? 2008?) (similar styles: here, here, and here)
- Swedish Hasbeens Peep toe Super High in Mustard
And also I just wanted to check in with you chickadees. Because if I don't post soon I worry that I will be inundated with frustrated facebook messages (it's happened!), here's a Jinah off-blog-duty outfit. Glasses, no makeup, slightly rumpled--this is what I look like in real life. Which is why you have probably never recognized me on the street. I'm kidding. Well, sort of.
Great photos lady! There is such depth in each one! Its interesting to see you with your glasses on looking more exposed, its pretty and soft.
ReplyDeleteThanks Fal! These still aren't my favorite but just knowing how to use correct settings already has made a vast improvement. Yay!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous skirt - it's perfectly flirty!
ReplyDeleteThis skirt is gorgeous! I think it's fantastic that you are taking a photography class because it will be so valuable to learn how to take great pictures. It's a great investment of your time. I can't wait to see what you learn!
ReplyDeleteGlasses, no make-up, whatever. You look as lovely as ever. Unfortunately, I know just what you mean about having bitten off more than I can chew...In my excitement about actually having a job in the first time for...(ever)...I took on too many assignments for me to even be able to blog every other day. Which has led to a lot of anxiety, guilt, frustration, and debilitating exhaustion as I continue to try to juggle both -____-
ReplyDeleteRumpled? No make up? You STILL look fashion-forward and gorgeous, Jinah. I would still totally recognize that in the streets! I hope you're able to find some time to really enjoy your hobbies -- you deserve it! Also, I love the skirt. It makes me yearn for rolling green hills and wildflowers!
