As a skeptic, when many of my astrology buff friends began to warn that Mercury would be in retrograde last month, I rolled my eyes. So of course, in an ironic twist of fate, the unthinkable happened. I was in a car accident at the beginning of the month, with no injuries except to my vehicle. And so I was without my primary mode of transport for almost a month! In a city as car-centric as Atlanta, and with as many obligations in as many different neighborhoods as I currently have, it was ridiculously inconvenient.
I finally got her back a few days ago, and phew, is it good to be back in the groove of things.
So that explains the setting for this photo set--I'm sorry but I can't help celebrating! Driving a rental car was totally bizarre--no matter how toy-like my own car is, driving much else feels like I'm riding in a styrofoam packing peanut.
And this skirt is my new favorite thing. Funny how that is, that so often the newest thing in the wardrobe is easily the current favorite. When Free People sent out an e-mail featuring this very skirt (as seen in this fp blog post), I immediately knew it was for me. Maybe in multiple colors.
I think she and I will have many adventures this summer! The swish-swish of the high-low hem is perfect for the hot and humid months ahead.
Speaking of hot and humid--local friends in the South, I've got a special announcement and goodies for you tomorrow!

So sorry about the accident! but on a lighter note your hair looks fab!!
ReplyDeleteYou're so sweet, Dianna! I'm really quite lazy when it comes to my hair so when I recently got it cut, I stressed it needed to be very low maintenance. There are a lot of layers throughout, and this really makes it easy for me. All I do is put in various products (right now it's Garnier Surf Hair, b&b surf spray, and Garnier Wonder Waves spray depending on my mood) right out of the shower and let it air dry. In the mornings I just ruffle it and go! Hope this helps!
ReplyDeletehi Jinah! love your oufit, but love your hair even more! it looks great on you. any chance you could share how you style it?
ReplyDeleteWhoa!! So glad you weren't hurt!! Car accidents are scary :(
ReplyDeleteOn a brighter note, you look lovely, as does your car, and I'm loving the new short do ^^
TOT cute skirt!
ReplyDeleteSorry about the car accident lady. Glad you are OK.
ReplyDeleteI'm totally fine! It was mostly the inconvenience that sucked.
ReplyDeleteThanks Tara! And yes, ugh, it totally stinks that it happened two blocks away from my house on a street I have to drive through daily.
ReplyDeleteYou look so cute posing on your car Jinah! Glad to hear you weren't hurt in the accident and your smile shows how happy you are to have your car back. I really love your outfit too, totally something I would wear. And your belt, sigh... I knew exactly which one it was when I first saw your picture. I still kick myself for not buying it when I had the chance!
