Free People Atlanta: Yes and Yes
So my friends have suffered from my excitement and enthusiasm regarding the Free People Atlanta store for the past several weeks. Upon overhearing a mere rumor that the brand was going to branch into my fair city, I started drilling everybody I knew for more details. When? Where? Do you think you'll have these 80 things on my wishlist?
I started hoarding all of my favorite pieces from work in order to be properly Free People'd up when the magic day finally arrived. And the store did not disappoint, friends--I wanted to see and touch and try and wear everything.

Free People Atlanta!
I've been keeping my mouth shut about this event because I thought it was top secret! So sorry to those of you who have been in the dark. As the flier above implies, the first Free People store in Georgia is finally here! In the main "strip" of Lenox Square mall is going to be our own personal destination for all things bohemian, rock 'n roll, and vintage-inspired.
The soft opening pre-party is this evening, and I've made it my business to attend! Hope to see some of you lovelies out there! I'll be the one alternately squealing in excitement and snapping paparazzi photos of the crowd.

Vintage Days: Sweet Sixteen blouse
I know I've discussed my dilemma of not having anything to wear before on the blog. Okay, it's not that I'm ever without anything to wear, it's more that I am a crazy person and only am excited to buy bright colors (that never match each other) and prints (that never seem to match the aforementioned bright colored things). My shopping resolution for several months has been to incorporate more basics and tame colors that go with everything.
Enter this blouse. I'm just a sucker for a prim collar. And gosh, the pearl buttons and little bow tie at the neck really make it adorable as all heck. This one's gonna be another one that's hard to let go of.
For interested parties, this top is by Rio Blouse from the 80's (80s does 50s/60s steez) and is a size XS/S. I'd be more keen on keeping it for myself if I wasn't trying not to pop buttons open in these photos! Not for the even slightly busty, I suppose. Sigh, such is vintage treasure hunting. Not everything is always the perfect fit. Oh, and priced at $28.
For those of you I won't see on Saturday, don't forget to enter the giveaway! There's prizes for out of towners too!

Vintage Days: Mod Squad dress
As a hoarder of things and also a seller of things, can I just say how hard it is to give things up, regardless of how many other of the same thing you already have? Case in point: this dress. Sure I have enough dresses to fill even the largest closet, but there's just something about that kicky pleated skirt and the chelsea collar that make me want to snatch this back and say, "MINE MINE MINE."
If there are no takers this time around, I think I'll finally alter this to fit me and let it stay in my closet as its forever home. She didn't get a second glance at the Athens sale, so there's hope for that!
Approximately a size small/medium, will fit sizes 4-8 depending on your body shape. Priced at $58. I'm willing to negotiate on most items, but this one I'll put up a fight for.
For those of you I won't see on Saturday, don't forget to enter the giveaway! There's prizes for out of towners too!

This post is part of a Vintage miniseries leading up to my participation in VAMP. A little more fun than my everyday outfit posts, but this is more about playing dress-up since I did not wear these in my IRL OOTD. So you vintage mavens, don't worry, I didn't wear this around all day in the sweltering heat before offering it to you! Just for the photoshoot :)

Vintage Days: Little House on the Prairie skirt
First up in this week's Vintage Days posts is this adorable calico number. I'm thrilled that midi-length skirts are in right now, because that is my favorite length to wear! I feel like tea-length hemlines span across multiple eras, and not only are an easy way to make any look more ladylike, they call for heels. Skirt and heels combos of all sorts are so feminine!
This skirt is so Laura Ingalls Wilder to me. Prairie without being over the top. It's from the seventies and has beautiful details--all of the buttons are functional, the top one hidden, and the tie waist lies perfectly flat though it's woven in and out.
She's a size small and will be $34! Come snag her on Saturday! If she doesn't go to a good home, she will be available on Etsy in September.
- Madewell shrunken stitch-spot boyshirt
- "Little House on the Prairie" skirt, Bunny Day Vintage
- Dolce Vita Jaquie clogs
- Vintage whistle necklace (not for sale, sorry loves!)

VAMP, Vintage Week, and a Giveaway!
So we missed out on this week's style roundup, I'm sorry to say. But it's only because I'm working on something even better.
My friends Marji and Jacqueline of PonyUp! Vintage have organized this amazing sale for this weekend. Dubbed Vintage Apparel Market Place (V.A.M.P. for short!), it's a collection of some of the best vintage sellers in our fine city! June Bug, my favorite vendor at Kudzu will be there (she's the source for this vintage dress!), as well as some big names such as the Clothing Warehouse. It should be a party!
Here are the deets for you lucky local lovelies:

Oh, and Lana and I will be selling there, too of course, under Bunny Day Vintage. I got these super sweet pencils made for the goodie bags being given out at the door.
Since admission costs $5, and I would love to spread the vintage spirit, I'm holding a giveaway!
- For you locals, you can win free admission, $25 credit to the Bunny Day booth, and one of these fine pencils from me.
- For those of you who live outside of Atlanta, your prize will be a $25 credit to the Bunny Day Etsy shop (which can be used after the event), and I will send you one of these fine pencils in the mail.
To enter, just fill out the form below! Entries will be accepted until Friday, August 26th, at 5PM EST. The winner will be emailed that evening!
Sorry friends! Giveaway is closed!
And in lieu of the inspiration posts, I will be styling outfits from some of the wares we will be selling! Let the vintage week begin!

City Casual
Trying to soak up these last little tidbits of carefree summer! Classes begin next week and I'll be back to super extra busy mode once again.
Here's a glimpse into a recent summertime event--this new painting on the square in Decatur. No, I cannot take any credit for it, but I did get to see it go up! Well, as much of it as I could, considering I spent most of those days working on the other side of the wall.
And I never really posted my treasures from the Unclaimed Baggage Center trip, but here is one of them. After feeling satisfied from scouring the International section, I halfheartedly flipped through the denim. As I'm not really a pants favoring kind of girl, I was only idly peeking to pass the time. Then I came upon these: brand new Paige jeans with the tags on for $15. I've never owned a pair of Paige, but when they fit, I decided to take them home with me.
Treasure hunting! Popsicle parties! Large scale paintings happening at work! I don't think I want this summer to ever end.

Two by Two
It was just cool enough today to wear boots and just warm enough still to wear linen today. Can I just tell you about how antsy I am to wear boots every day? Most of my summer shoes are super fun heels and wedges in bright colors, but I almost never wear them since they end up feeling like torture running around at work. But boots? All of mine are flat but still manage to look stylish with everything.
And regarding this dress--I don't think I've ever gotten so many compliments in my life! I'd been casually eyeing this dress for a minute now, but I credit Carol and this post for really pushing it over the top. It pairs so well with bright colors! And while I usually opt for a color pop to cheer my mood, this print was perfectly whimsical and had me prancing around all day.

Sunday Style Inspiration
So I almost take it back--after wishing it would be fall already for so long, when it was finally cool enough to eat dinner out on a patio this weekend, I couldn't help but feel wistful that summer's nearly over.
There are so many warm weather outfits I have yet to wear! I'm panicking and I'm taking inventory of all my favorite crop tops and sandals to make sure everyone gets a turn. Here's some sunny inspiration to get us all through the last of these lazy hazy days.

Another Sunny Day
It still feels like we're right in the middle of the lazy hazy days of summer, and I'm happy to dress accordingly. I love how easy a lightweight button down, a chambray skirt, and a straw hat ensemble is, and it all just sings summertime.
My very favorite part is my new summertime skirt, which was yet another super secret double rainbow sale score. Fallon, our friend Jess, and I had planned a little girl time and catchup at the most recent Denim After Dark event, and chanced upon a 50% off sale items promotion. How could I resist?
But oh boy, Madewell has become more and more of my new obsession. The fall lookbook arrived in my mailbox last week, and while I have saved many of the images digitally on Pinterest, having a poster-sized foldout of all of the looks to post on my wall and refer to while getting dressed is so much more fun!

Style Inspiration: Wideleg and Flared
Well look at that--I ended up skipping over this week's style inspiration post. I was up to my elbows in a home improvement project Sunday evening, and between the paint fumes and massive cleanup, it slipped my mind. But don't you dare think I forgot! I'd been culling images all week.
So I'm late to the game here, since many of my favorite blog ladies grabbed Lovestorys last season, but I'm really drawn to the wideleg and flare silhouette right now. I love how a good pair of trousers or bellbottom jeans can transition from bohemian to prim with the right accessories.

With all this inspiration floating around my head, I ended up caving when these AG Farrahs went on sale at Anthropologie. I decided to go the nautical route. It's probably not that obvious on the blog, but if I could, I would wear a striped tee every single day.
- Saint James Minquiers tee
- AG Farrah jeans
- Banana Republic Market tote
- Madewell On the Ropes necklace (similar here, here, and here)
- Swedish Hasbeens shoes (not really pictured, oops!)

Feeling Bookish
For the Book Club show, I wanted to nerd out and dress as bookish as possible. As far as I'm concerned, Dear Creatures' pieces are as darling and as book worm as it gets. And it's navy and it has a peter pan collar? Dresses like these are basically my uniform all day every day.
- Dear Creatures Par Avion dress (the "Boat House Brunch dress" on Modcloth)
- Bass <3 Rachel Antonoff Matilda oxfords

I Can't Dance Just With Your Ghost
One of the things I love about having grown up in and around Atlanta is the number of amazing people I've met along the way. I'm always floored by how talented and stylish and important my friends are.
Specifically, two of my favorite local people sing and play in the band Book Club. Markus describes their sound as "like drinking a glass of milk." That is, to say, though the lyrics lend themselves to the melancholy, the melodies and instrumentals are very wholesome and pleasing to the ear. Creative Loafing describes their sound as a haunting mix of folk, country, and pop music.

l-r: Joseph, Matt, Leigh Anne, Robbie, Lee
The talented five just put out their first full length release, Ghost, and I'm thrilled to be able to listen at home in addition to making it to all of their shows. You can listen to and purchase it on their site here.
It just so happens that to celebrate, they will be holding a special album release show at the Earl tonight, Thursday August 4th! I'm going to go pick up a copy of their record on vinyl and be standing in the very front. Hope to see you locals there!
Robbie and Leigh Anne are the best!
