Outfit details:
Target Asymmetrical Ruffle Dress (similar here, here, and here)
Boutique 9 Great Crossing/Gilla Sandals (similar here and here)
Amanda Gary leather bag (buzz her for a one of a kind piece!)
This is what I wore on Thursday night to wander Downtown Disney. After a long car ride, neither Markus nor I were in the mood to go wait in long lines outside. So we skipped the parks and headed to Downtown Disney for dinner and some shopping.
I like to think of this as my cha-cha dress. The stripes are just like Fruit Stripe gum, but the feel is very fiesta. I love it especially paired with tan leather accessories. It was just the right amount of casual and (temperature!) cool for a relaxed evening of tourist sightseeing.
And for anyone curious about my bag, it is a handmade piece by a local designer named Amanda Gary. (Check out her website for more photos of her gorgeous bags!) I love its organic shape and the buttery leather--I am definitely a leathah kind of girl. I suppose also a handbag kind of girl, while we're at it...
Back to my amazing bag. The best part is the little front zipper. Amanda designed it so that the contents of your purse are not accessible by a third party from the back, but the zipper in the front is perfectly placed so that you can just unzip and easily grab your keys, wallet, or phone.
For those of you lovies waiting for vacation photos, I'll be sure to post them tomorrow. One thing I learned on this trip, is that while snapping photos of interesting and exciting times is really fun, lugging my camera and super protecty camera bag is not. Any photog bloggers out there with advice or better solutions? I'm still nursing the rash I got from the strap of my camera bag.
Look how adorable you are! Your bag looks like a wonderful piece. Glad you're having a great time :)
ReplyDeleteYour outfit seems perfect for an evening at downtown disney!

you look really super beautiful in these photos! enjoy your vacation!
ReplyDeleteand plus, there are a ton of padded camera bags for women (jill-e comes to mind), but they'll come at a price, so i'd only go for it if you're pretty dedicated to lugging your camera around. if you're not necessarily looking for something cute, i'd check out lowepro or one of the other "sling" styles that is comfortable AND hands-free :)
That cha cha dress is so fun! I love your sandals with it.
ReplyDeleteDon't forget to enter to win a Lime Ricki swimsuit!
clothed much, a modest fashion blog
Are the shoes comfy? I've been coveting them since I saw them in the Anthro catalog.
ReplyDeleteOh Disneyworld is one of my favorite places EVER (even though I've only been there twice in my life). Have fun, you look great!
ReplyDeleteyou are too cute! i love disney world, i hope i can make it this year!
ReplyDeleteAde--I don't necessarily need a fashionable one, I just didn't know if there was a less...cumbersome option? Or maybe like a slipon cover so I can put my camera in my regular purse? The camera bag I have now is a sling style messenger/backpack that is hands free, but it got really heavy and bulky while wandering the parks.
ReplyDeletemcmanda--The shoes were pretty comfy! I only wore them this first day on the trip though, since my feet got too swollen from walking around the parks for two days.
love the outfit! i have the same dress in the pink colorway and love it... perfect for a hot day!
ReplyDeleteAwww, I love your face in the first picture, haha! It looks so gorgeous outside where you are, too! And Fruit Stripe dress? YES, PLEASE! The idea with the front zipper on the bag is genius as well. I can't tell you HOW paranoid I am of some of my bags whenever I'm out and about!
ReplyDeletethe camera thing-- I've always been told to have two cameras--one small, but still good quality digital camera, in addition to other camera...but thats just me--the only reason I haven't sold my small Nikon-just for convenience sake. : )
ReplyDeleteI can't wait to get my DSLR!!!!!
btw-- the idea of tan accessories with rainbow brights? genius!!
ah, i see. totally understand. i recently swapped out my d-slr bag for this: http://www.amazon.com/Opteka-Camera-Holster-Adjustable-Shoulder/dp/B000MISEI0/ref=sr_1_14?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1276835721&sr=8-14
ReplyDeleteand i just put the whole thing in a larger bag. downsides, of course, are that you can't carry addl. lenses or flash.
How cute! That dress is so fun!
