Outfit details: Yoana Baraschi dress (similar here, here, and here)
Rodarte for Target lace cardigan (sold out online-some left on eBay)
Anthropologie Rose-Is-A-Rose Headband
I found this hanging out in my flickr and realized I hadn't posted it to the blog. This is what I ended up wearing to Christmas day festivities with my family. This cardigan came in the mail Christmas Eve and I was super excited to wear it as soon as possible. For some reason, I normally like to hang onto things for an extremely long time to ensure I *really* want them before wearing.
I love that this RFT piece is both demure and a little edgy. It makes the layer underneath feel just a little bit more special. For those of you trying to track these down in-stores or on eBay, the arms felt snug for me, but had enough give that I could wear my normal XS in it. In the store I put on a medium and it looked totally normal too since it's designed to be a little slouchy. The sleeves on it are a little long so that they scrunch up at the cuff. A nice little detail because I'm always fussing with my long-sleeved things in order to cover my wrists in the Winter.
Speaking of Winter, really cold weather has all of a sudden crept up on us down South and I for one, am not too pleased. I've been regularly hibernating in layered pajamas with stacks of books and movies and my favorite space heater, avoiding venturing out unless absolutely necessary.
Since I am a big baby about chilly weather, and since growing up in the South leaves me ignorant about warm things, my cold-weather garb has been laughable. None of my coats are legitimately warm (novelty and for "Fall"), and the only pair of gloves I own don't match anything I am wearing. I basically sprint out of the house to my car in wacky combinations topped with a summer scarf. Apologies for lack of documentation--honestly, I don't know how you gals with snow on the ground can stand it!
I like your hair accessory that goes with your outfit quite well.
ReplyDeleteI love how happy you look in the first picture.
ReplyDeleteNice picture, you look very happy.
ReplyDeleteSpeaking about cold, yep way too cold in Marietta, I only go out to get my usual tea at Starbucks. Stay warm.
I adore the cardigan! I'm sad that I'm in Taiwan so I couldn't go pick it up -- it looks like a great wardrobe stretcher. I also love your dress!

Love your Yoana Baraschi dress. I think she makes the most beautiful dresses! I got the same Rodarte cardi, I also picked up the golden yellow one too. Did you pick up any other Rodarte pieces?
ReplyDeleteI live in Dallas & we are having a very unsually cold winter. It has already snowed twice, which is unheard of here. An artic front is coming in tomorrow dropping the temp in the low teens and the highs in the twenties for several days. Brrr!!
