This week's theme: pink, and specifically, pink dresses.
Inspired by today, Valentine's Day, and my sudden urge to wear a lot of pink this upcoming season. I like the idea of popping a classic spring color with the big wave of neutrals this season. These are all handmade and vintage picks, mostly one of a kind, so snap them up quick! Obviously it's too late to pick one up for tonight's dinner date, but I think this hue will still be a big splash through summer.
Frocks for today, frocks for life.
From left to right:
- Pink Dress with Peplum from gimmeNICOLE, $28. I am D-Y-I-N-G over how amazing this one is. A peplum skirt always kills me. I would wear it to feel extra sassy while blogging. For some reason this feels perfectly suited to stationary work, such as typing. I love the extra sass in the item descriptions by this seller. A++ would shop again!!
- Vintage 70's Tiny Pleats Dinner Dress, also from leamor, $48. Isn't this perfect for drinks and dancing with your boys or with your girls? In addition to this little number, the rest of the dresses and skirts in this Etsy shop are soooo good. Perfectly updated skirts and shortened flirty frocks. I want them all!
- Vintage Inspired Pale Pink Petal Dress by supayana, $110. I have been obsessed with Yana's clothes going on five years now. This is a handmade piece inspired by a 1940's sewing pattern that she reworked herself. I still have two tops from her t-shirt surgery days, and I can vouch for her work--her attention to detail, quality of materials used, and construction skills are incredible. This piece in particular looks better than any dress I've seen in stores lately. I hope it goes to a good home!
- Vintage 80's Sweetheart Dot Mini Dress from leamor, $48. I can't help but plug this store twice! This has got to be the cutest little frock I have ever seen. Perfect for park strolls, picnics, dates to the zoo, and tea parties.
- A Purple Heart Vintage Paisley and Floral dress from DecadesBaltimore, $22. I love how the overall pattern reads pink without being overly saccharine. And I'm really into tie-neck secretary shirtdresses right now. Check out the Etsy store for more excellent 50's-70's era vintage goodies.
- The Little Trapeze Dress in pink by JosianePerron, $75. Isn't this one just incredible? The oh so lovely Quebecoise designer also makes this piece in a green shirting stripe as well as an ivory floral print! So pretty. Check out her website for more incredible pieces from her collections.
