J. Crew Vintage Bateau top
J. Crew Denim Minnie Pant
Gap ballet flats in killer tomato
Rebecca Minkoff studded rocker (in linear studs here)

Last week it was brought to my attention that this mural I am posing in front of has been planned to be painted over. I pass by the Irwin Street mural on a daily basis and consider it a centerpiece of the neighborhood. It's hard to tell from these shots, but the mural is a large-scale winding piece with gold, red, and yellow koi fish.

Brandon Sadler has made a glorious piece of artwork on such a great scale, and I couldn't bear to see it removed, defaced, or painted over. He has started a Facebook petition, which I signed and stand behind. Hopefully public opinion will be enough to sway the lofts planning to change the artwork to let it stand.

And my outfit--I don't know how or why I got so Crew-ed out today, but I sure do like it. While pants are not my favorite, I fully advocate all forms of the Minnie Pant. Most capri-length skinny pants do weird things around my calves for whatever reason.

(Are we having a Mean Girls moment? I have man shoulders. My nailbeds suck. Anyway...)

These are perrrrfect and hug all the way down to my ankle. They fit just like I wanted my Gap Audrey pants to and don't quit on me throughout the day. And unlike many of the jeans I've tried and wear, they don't sag or stretch out so I don't have to do that hitch-my-pants-up dance during the day.

Have a great weekend, lovelies! I'm crossing my fingers for glorious weather tomorrow in Athens.

  3. I think you have done a great job convincing me to try on the minnies. You have been telling me about these silly pants for months and now I finally get it.

I'm not even going to tell you how much I love these pictures because you know that already ;)

  4. You and that pretty mural kind of match - you look great as usual!

Aw, I missed out on the striped bateau top - it's backordered online until like 2012 and last time I was at JC they only had the neon pink version.

  10. I ADORE THESE PHOTOS! You look so adorable, and so rocker chic! The stripes, the jeans, the studded bag -- it's completely perfect! I am totally going to copy this look, haha! It is too bad that the mural is going to be painted over. Is it going to be replaced with another mural, at least?

I am so jealous of you and your Minnie pants success! I tried on all the different Minnie pants and they just didn't work on me. Sigh... They look so great on you and other bloggers, though!
