Finally--my crazy early morning Target.com purchase arrived on my doorstep! I'm really happy with the prints and quality of materials on all of these considering the price point (everything is $34.99 or less!). The fit of the S-M-L sized pieces was perfect for me, but the misses numbered sizing pieces (sizes 2-18) were kind of a miss.
Tiered Ruffle Keyhole Tank, $19.99
This is by far my favorite print--very saturated and very 60's. I think this will mix nicely with jeans, skirts, and shorts. I did want the dress version of this, but I had to talk myself out of it. I have jeans and skirts galore and 0 tops to pair with them. This is an XS on me. This is definitely a keeper.
Next, a plethora of peacock print:
Haha, I don't know why I chose to pose with my pillow here. I am all about everything with peacock feathers on, and this top was no exception. I was worried that the print would look dull, washed out, or cheap in person, but I think it looks vibrant! The fit on this top is perfect, and I can see myself getting a lot of wear out of this--it works for my current job and can easily be "businessed" up for school or an internship. I'm wearing an XS here. Also a definite keeper. Love.
Next, a plethora of peacock print:
Decorative Pillow, $19.99
Was pleasantly surprised to find a pair of these while on a milk run. Snapped them up right away since they match the color story of all of my bedding sets (teal and green!). I love the back on these too--it is a fun chartreuse velvet.

Halter Maxi Dress, $34.99
I was so so disappointed when I got this beautiful dress and it ended up fitting me horribly! Also I'm undecided about the overlapping front with the triangle peek of skin in the front. First off, this beauty is long! Yes, I am wearing flats here, but dang. I am what I consider to be average height for America, and this was dragging on the ground!
I think that may be part of how this dress was designed--it is very ethereal and floaty when you are moving around. Also it's definitely too big in the back. It's all baggy and saggy. Sad times! I'm curious to try this in petites. I think that would solve the issue with the length, for one.
This is a size 2 (the smallest they did in misses). I'm undecided if I want to keep it. If I do I will probably alter it to be a knee-length and take it in on top.
Sateen Shift Dress, $34.99
This was the piece I was most anticipating receiving in the mail. In person? Well, it's just not going to work. This is a size 2, which is the smallest size available, and I definitely have a good few inches of extra room in this dress. I wonder if the petites would fit better, but most sizes are sold out in that as well.
The fabric on this is A+, though. A soft and thick cotton sateen, which was a nice departure from the polyester pieces. If you can fit this, it is lovely in person! A great sheen to it. Perfect for work, play, and lunching with your ladies. I'm tempted to keep this and have it taken in, but goodness me, I doubt I will actually get around to it.
I did also get some swim and lounge pieces, but I don't think I'm ready to post half nekkid pictures on the blog! I will say that the sleepwear and babydoll top are super cute and true to size. The swim feels really really luxe in person, but I suggest trying in person if you can.
An interesting note: All of the past Target collections I've purchased online have come with the paper tags on like you see in the store. This time, there were no tags, which I'm hoping will not be an issue for returning to the store.
Rosa also just posted reviews of items she purchased. Did any of my dear readers pick up anything? I was so overwhelmed by the span of this collaboration and lost my mind a little bit.
great choices! i love the pillow! I wish i had my own house so I can decorate it with the housewear stuff. Glad you go the sheath dress, it's very pretty and totally worth taking it in, in my opinion. :)
ReplyDeleteThe ruffle neck top looks great on you, as does the sateen shift, but I agree you need to have it taken in as it is way too big for you. It is a gorgeous pattern though.
ReplyDeleteI was West-Coasting it during the launch and didn't have a Target near me, so I missed out on most of the cool pieces. I did get a dress though (from the girls' collection!) and I am hoping the local Target still has some stuff left this weekend.
Jinah, I am absolutely in love with that last sateen dress! If you don't want to keep it, would you please consider sending it to me instead of returning it to the store? I'm more than happy to take it off your hands, since I end up getting more than half of everything I buy altered anyway. Let me know!
ReplyDeletePS: Also love the peacock top on you, very chic!
* Both blouses are great! I'm excited to see how you work the second one into your business attire.
ReplyDelete* I really liked the maxi when I saw it but wished that the hem was even. I don't like that triangle in the front.
* The shift is super cute and I'm really sad it doesn't fit.
Ahhh, great reviews Jinah! Even if the sizing was off for some of the pieces, you still kind of look like you are rocking them! Sorry that the satin sheath is in actuality too big..it looks so awesome though, I agree with everyone else that it is worth getting taken in.
ReplyDeleteI was forced to order all petites online because my store didn't have any of the stuff I was looking for. I am worried some things will be too short for me, but lol, now I am thinking it's okay if the peacock maxi is a little shorter than intended!!
Lisa--The Edgewood Target was wiped out of home goods but still had a good selection of the clothing. From what I've found in the past with such collections, the Targets in the 'burbs are more likely to have big selections left. I picked up the pillows at N. Druid Hills and they had all sizes of most things. Hope this helps!
ReplyDeleteFallon--Yeah, the maxi is so pretty but is a difficult piece. I wish they had made some kind of shorter dress out of the print. Sadly I think it's going to take too much work to make it how I want it.
Anjali--I think in some of the items you might do well with the petites! Assuming that the petites are cut smaller, the number sized items seemed to run pretty big. I think the peacock maxi would be amazing on you!
Aww... I really love the peacock top. I want it so bad! Looks great on you. It just kills me that I don't have a Target here (and no car either, so it's not easy for me to drive to the closest one that's 30 minutes away and then look for parking for another hour).
ReplyDeleteThe last dress is SO LONG, but I think it looks really good, and might be worth altering.
Looks like some successful shopping has been going on here recently! I love the first top pictured especially... a very 60's print. The dresses are cute too... the same print on the pillows and dress, right? I love that print with the lime green... I feel like we have such similar taste sometimes! Target has such great stuff!
ReplyDeleteThis line looks so cute, I love the bright florals! :)
ReplyDeleteAnd I really love the yellow dress, even if it doesn't fit perfectly. I'd definitely get it altered rather than returning it- it's worth keeping! :)

I love the dresses on you! It's a shame that smaller sizes weren't offered. Unfortunately I couldn't find any styles that flattered me. It's probably for the best since I went overboard with housewares. I also bought the sleeveless peacock print top. With a cardigan and dress pants, it worked well for the office. I put a list on my blog of everything I picked up. Not really a review since I was WAY too excited about everything though. Also, I suggest that people should try the Target iPhone app "find in store" feature to locate any items that are hard to find. My store pulled items out of the stock room for me this week!

That halter dress is gorgeous! Beautiful print. I love your header, it's so pretty and organised. :)

jinah,
ReplyDeletethe 2 in the shift fit me horribly as well-- extra room in the waist and bust, and the hem went a couple inches past my knee. :/ If you can find the p2, try it out, it will fit a lot better. I'll have a review today on my blog of the dress.
They had the trench coat in the pattern of the shift dress you have at my store. It was so cute, but too big for me around the arms. I was surprised that there was quite a bit of stuff left still, from housewares to clothes.
ReplyDeleteTara B. -they had a 2 at my store, I can check if they still have it, but I won't be able to go till tomorrow.
Tien--I'm going to have to make some returns soon, let me know if you want me to pop by the clothing and pick anything up for you!
ReplyDeleteAlyssa--Yes, all three are the same peacock print! I love it.
Elizabeth--The iPhone app is great, but it only works about 40% of the time for me! It likes to either crash or not find the items I'm looking for.
Very cute Jinah! I too got the peacock top and love it (also got the 1 pc. swimsuit & mugs too). I also thought it was weird when my order arrived and there were no tags on the dresses. I was able to return my 2 dresses no problem yesterday - just make sure you print out your return receipt online. My local store still has a ton of stuff. I was able to pick up a couple of the candles I wanted that weren't available online and they smell so good! Did you get any other housewares?
ReplyDeleteAthena--Yes, I did. I felt a little insane so I didn't include them in this post. In addition to the peacock pillows, I picked up a quilt, a bedding set, prep bowls for the kitchen, a piggy bank, and a housewarming gift. I think I have to take back atleast some of the bedding because my boyfriend keeps looking at me like I lost my mind this week!
ReplyDeleteLove the tops! None of the piece actually fit me very well, but they were lovely to see. I really wanted the green strapless one-piece bathing suit, but it just wasn't flattering. I only picked up a few adorable coffee mugs. :) Glad that you found some things!
ReplyDeleteI love the keyhole ruffle top and the peacock top on you! That's too bad about the sateen shift because it looks like a pretty dress!
ReplyDeleteAre those Saltwater sandals I spy? I have them in dark brown and love them for the summer.
LOVE the first top! I bought the dress in that same pattern, and it's so gorgeous. How disappointing that the peacock dress fits you badly, it's really cute! I didn't see it, or any of the other items you bought at the Target I went to in CT.
ReplyDeletethat maxi is amazinggg- i've been waiting to go check out the line and this helps SO much. thanks for sharing this girl!
